Programs

HCCA Board of Directors and in partnership with our staff are committed to working hard to provide a wide array of quality cultural and education programs for our members and the community.  Our agency is currently offering the following programs.  For more information please contact our office.

  1.     CULTURAL AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
    • Basic Hmong Culture Class – 6 months of training to introduce Hmong culture
    • Hmong Wedding Class – 1 year of training that provides information into the scope of Hmong wedding process, procedures, and wedding ceremony
    • Hmong Funeral Rituals and Cultural Practices (KAV XWM) Training – 2 years of intensive training into the process, procedures, and practicality of Hmong funeral service and the role funeral directors.
    • Advanced Hmong Cultural and Leadership (TXIV XAIV) Training – 2 and half years of advanced training in the process, procedures, and practicality of the Hmong blessing and oral singing in the preparation of traditional burial.
  2.  HMONG INSTRUMENTS AND MUSIC PROGRAM
    • Beginning Hmong QEEJ class – 1 year of training to learn basic notes and lyrics of the Hmong QEEJ.
    • Advanced Hmong QEEJ class – 2 year of training about the process, procedures, and practicality of Hmong QEEJ lyrics and songs for funeral ceremony.
  3.   HMONG LANGUAGE CLASSES
    • Beginning Hmong Language Class – 2 months course that offer basic Hmong reading and writing to students ages 8-14.
    • Advanced Hmong Language Class – 2 months course that provide advanced reading, writing, and speaking to students ages 15-19.
  4.  HMONG EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
    • An interactive education program that  teach kids about Hmong history, culture, and their journey to America
    • In partnership with School District of La Crosse, staff, teacher, and Hmong community
    • Offer to all 4th & 5th graders in the La Crosse School District
    • With two evening of community days offer to the community to learn about Hmong culture, history, and their livings in the La Crosse area.
  5. YOUTH PROGRAMS
    • Traditional Youth Dance Group Elementary Age
    • Traditional Youth Dance Group Middle School Age
    • Traditional Youth Dance Group High School & Beyond
    • Sponsor of Hmong Girls Pageant
